About The Position

The Residential Life lead office assistant, student employee is responsible for assisting Residential Life staff with the management of residential hall genius hubs, including coordinating daily operations, promoting student engagement and development, and ensuring accountability of genius hub staff. This role supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence, modeling, supporting, and holding others accountable to the University’s values. The position involves assisting with student check-in and check-out, managing daily schedules for genius hub staff, supporting the daily operations of the main Residential Life office, and assisting in building rosters and coordinating room changes. Additionally, the role aids in the creation of Residential Hall Association proposals, ensures completion of building maintenance and inventory, maintains office hours to meet with residents, and assists with training and interview processes. The lead office assistant will refer students experiencing hardships to appropriate resources, attend residence hall events, and engage with residents. They must understand University procedures and offer appropriate referral resources to effectively respond to student questions and concerns. The role also includes attending scheduled Residential Life meetings, assisting in leading genius hub staff meetings, and collaborating with appropriate staff to resolve maintenance, furniture inventory, and safety issues. The position helps facilitate the planning and execution of annual Residential Life events, maintains an accurate inventory of genius hub supplies, and assists department staff with maintaining accountability for office assistant positions and mediating residential issues. The lead office assistant must understand, support, and enforce University policies and report/assist with responding to policy violations. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at Lindenwood University
  • Primary residence in campus housing
  • Good academic and financial standing with the University
