About The Position

WeMaintain is hiring a Lead NetSuite Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of its NetSuite platform, which supports Finance and Supply Chain operations across four countries. This newly created role is part of the Product & Engineering team and is open to candidates working remotely from Europe or from one of the company's four offices. The position is initially a solo in-house NetSuite role: the successful candidate will take over platform knowledge from an external partner, assess and repair the existing setup, and then shape and deliver improvements in close collaboration with business teams. The role combines hands-on configuration and development with operational process improvement. The engineer will work directly with Finance and Supply Chain stakeholders, set priorities, recommend and implement solutions, and make technical decisions with substantial autonomy. Responsibilities span NetSuite configuration, workflows, SuiteScript, integrations, and, where appropriate, tools or agents alongside NetSuite. The work covers finance processes such as accounting, invoicing, collections, revenue recognition and month-end close, as well as purchasing, receiving, fulfilment and inventory management across multiple countries, subsidiaries and currencies. Initial priorities include improving inventory accuracy and visibility, cleaning and maintaining the parts catalogue, embedding purchasing policies and approval controls, and reducing spreadsheet-dependent finance work through integrations and automation. The role calls for someone comfortable inheriting an imperfect system, balancing competing business needs, challenging requests constructively, and taking accountability for outcomes. The position reports to the CIO, with a dotted line to the VP Operations, and works with teams across France, the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong. The first-year objectives include taking over the platform independently, implementing ordering and receiving guardrails, improving catalogue and stock data, embedding purchasing rules, automating collections and month-end close tasks, and helping teams rely on NetSuite rather than manual workarounds. Compensation is adapted to the candidate's country of residence: €70,000–€95,000 gross annual base salary in Europe, or £75,000–£95,000 in the United Kingdom.

Requirements

  • Several years of hands-on NetSuite experience, either in-house or at an implementation partner.
  • Direct experience configuring workflows and developing SuiteScript.
  • Strong knowledge of NetSuite Finance or Inventory processes, with the ability to learn the other area quickly.
  • Experience building integrations using REST APIs, SuiteTalk, iPaaS platforms, or banking and fintech connections.
  • Ability to work directly with controller or warehouse stakeholders to understand needs and develop practical solutions.
  • Confidence to challenge stakeholders, say no when appropriate, and explain reasoning clearly.
  • Ability to independently own a business-critical platform, set priorities and remain connected to users across countries and time zones.
  • Professional fluency in English, the working language for the position.
  • Ability to ramp quickly, think clearly, take initiative and be accountable for outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong experience across both Finance and physical Inventory Management in NetSuite.
  • Experience managing multi-subsidiary, multi-currency environments, ideally including Asia.
  • Experience with revenue recognition (ARM), internal controls or month-end close automation.
  • Experience in field services, maintenance, logistics or industrial distribution.
  • Experience using AI tools or LLM APIs to automate practical business work.
  • NetSuite certifications.
  • French language ability.

Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of NetSuite, including taking over existing platform knowledge from the external partner and independently running, configuring and changing the system.
  • Assess the current setup, identify operational risks and limitations, repair issues, and establish improvement priorities and a roadmap with Finance and Supply Chain.
  • Configure NetSuite workflows and controls, develop SuiteScript, and build or manage integrations.
  • Work directly with Finance and Supply Chain stakeholders to understand operational needs, recommend solutions, arbitrate between requests and set platform priorities.
  • Challenge requests and propose simpler solutions where they address the underlying business problem more effectively.
  • Balance hands-on development with process mapping and collaboration with finance and warehouse teams.
  • Improve ordering, approvals, receiving, stock movements and global inventory visibility, including remote inventories and stock held at client sites.
  • Clean up the parts catalogue and implement purchasing policies, preferred suppliers, replenishment and approval rules in NetSuite.
  • Improve finance operations by supporting internal controls, integrations with Airwallex and Payhawk, revenue recognition, collections and month-end close automation.
  • Explore and build practical applications, integrations or AI-powered agents alongside NetSuite where they can automate real work, and evaluate whether they are effective.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across France, the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong.
  • Deliver improvements that reduce spreadsheet use, manual reconciliation and operational delays.

Benefits

  • Genuine autonomy and ownership of technical decisions and the evolution of a business-critical platform.
  • Direct business impact across Finance and Supply Chain operations in four countries.
  • International working environment collaborating with colleagues across Europe and Asia.
  • Career development and internal mobility opportunities, including the possibility of taking ownership of wider Finance and Supply Chain systems.
  • Fully remote work from Europe, or the option to work from one of four offices.
  • Three in-person team gatherings per year.
  • Gross annual base salary of €70,000–€95,000 in Europe or £75,000–£95,000 in the United Kingdom, adjusted to country of residence and experience.
