About The Position

The Lead - Medical Office Registration & Scheduler position at HonorHealth is a working operations lead role under the direction of the Practice Manager. This role serves as a secondary source of information for EPIC, AHCCCS, self-pay accounts, and insurance benefits. The Lead acts as a liaison between Registration/Schedulers, the Manager, Providers, and supportive staff. Key responsibilities include overseeing the monthly schedule for Registration/Schedulers, identifying staffing needs, and ensuring operational requirements are met. The position requires specialization in and familiarity with all system applications to meet department goals. The Lead also participates in identifying and enhancing processes within the Medical Group and maintains the ongoing department training program in conjunction with the Manager/Administrator, promoting positive teamwork.

Requirements

  • 3 years registration/patient accounts experience with an emphasis on customer service Required
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Have a current Fingerprint Clearance card, or within seven working days after employment shall apply and be eligible for a Fingerprint Clearance Card (Pediatric Behavioral Health Sites ONLY) Required

Nice To Haves

  • Associates in related healthcare field Preferred
  • 2 years Training or Leadership Experience Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a working operations lead for staff.
  • Acts as a secondary source for information regarding, EPIC, AHCCCS, self-pay accounts, and Insurance benefits.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Registration/Schedulers, Manager, Providers, and supportive staff.
  • Oversees the Registration/Scheduler monthly schedule, identify staffing needs and make necessary contacts to meet operational needs.
  • Specializes in and is completely familiar with any and all system applications by performing all tasks needed to meet department operation requirements and goals.
  • Participates in identifying needs for process improvements and creating/enhancing processes in the Medical Group.
  • Maintains ongoing department training program in conjunction with the Manager/Administrator.
  • Promotes positive teamwork within department and among employees.
  • Oversees the shift-to-shift responsibilities of the Medical group staff.
  • Prepares the Department schedule, accepts sick calls as needed and modifies the schedule accordingly.
  • Serves as a resource for employees in regards to all pertinent admission, registration, patient scheduling, medical records management and software applications.
  • Covers any areas in the Medical Group to ensure throughput by completing the necessary tasks.
  • Assists with the training of department employees, collaborates with the system trainers to assure ongoing training within the department.
  • Serves as a resource and assists staff with complex issues.
  • Acts as a Registration/Scheduler; Stays current with knowledge for HIPAA, Federal regulations, state regulations and hospital policy regarding admission and registration procedures and reimbursement criteria.
  • Attends departmental meetings in order to enhance communications within departments.
  • Performs registrations.
  • Attends pay in-services (As assigned) and departmental meetings.
  • Completes reports as assigned.
