About The Position

The Medical Assistant (MA) IV works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties that assist with providing care to assigned patients. The MA IV can perform all aspects of the MA I, MA II, and MA III roles. In addition, the MA IV serves in a leadership role or is highly skilled and trained in multiple complex specialty areas, and oversees clinic ambassadors, change agents, quality champions, and preceptors. The role serves patients from birth and above.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants; or complete a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program; or complete two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces.
• Obtain National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
• Have 3 years of medical assisting experience in a clinic setting.
• Have 3 years of experience providing high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion.
• Have 6 months of working experience in a PSJH clinic within the last 3 years, or 18 months of experience in a Lead MA role in a clinical setting in lieu of that experience.
