About The Position

The GPS Lead Master Trainer & Director of Training Quality is responsible for the delivery of GPS trainings, including ensuring the quality, consistency, and fidelity of the GPS Group Peer Support model across all GPS trainings, facilitators, trainers, and learning materials. This is a senior training leadership role for someone who is an exceptional trainer and facilitator and can quickly develop a deep understanding of the GPS model, teach it with excellence, and ensure that others deliver it with the same level of quality and fidelity. The Lead Master Trainer provides day-to-day leadership, supervision, coaching, and quality oversight to GPS trainers and facilitators; actively leads GPS trainings; provides real-time guidance and decision-making related to training delivery, facilitator support, and model fidelity; ensures training materials remain accurate, current, and organized; and helps GPS build the training capacity needed to grow while protecting the integrity of the model. The person in this role serves as a keeper of the GPS model, providing the leadership, structure, and expertise needed to ensure that as GPS expands, the quality and consistency of our work remain strong.

Responsibilities

Own quality and fidelity standards for all GPS training and facilitation.
Ensure the GPS model is taught and facilitated consistently across programs, populations, trainers, and facilitators.
Observe and assess trainings and facilitation.
Identify quality concerns and ensure appropriate coaching, remediation, and follow-up.
Develop systems for ongoing quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Ensure that growth and expansion do not compromise the integrity of the GPS model.
Ensure all trainers and facilitators understand, practice, and consistently follow GPS safety protocols, professional boundaries, and escalation procedures.
Provide leadership and consultation when challenging or concerning situations arise during trainings or support groups, ensuring they are handled appropriately and consistently.
Coach trainers and facilitators in navigating difficult group dynamics, participant concerns, and other complex situations while maintaining the integrity and safety of the GPS model.
Serve as a senior/master trainer for GPS Facilitator Training and other GPS professional learning programs.
Model exceptional GPS training and facilitation practices.
Train and develop new GPS trainers and master trainers.
Determine trainer readiness and support trainers as they progress toward independent delivery.
Lead train-the-trainer activities as GPS expands its training capacity and team.
Actively lead GPS Facilitator Trainings and other assigned GPS training programs as a primary trainer.
Provide real-time leadership during trainings, including making decisions related to delivery, facilitator roles, participant needs, and model fidelity.
Step into training or facilitation roles when needed to ensure continuity and quality.
Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and ongoing professional development to GPS trainers and facilitators.
Provide direct day-to-day supervision and support to GPS trainers and facilitators.
Lead or oversee pre-session planning and post-session debrief meetings, ensuring roles, expectations, session flow, and responsibilities are clear.
Serve as the primary point of contact for routine trainer and facilitator questions, concerns, and real-time decisions.
Hold trainers and facilitators accountable to established GPS protocols, expectations, and model-fidelity standards.
Address performance concerns and provide clear, timely feedback, coaching, and follow-up.

Create opportunities for trainers and facilitators to strengthen their skills.
Identify performance or fidelity concerns early and develop plans to address them.
Build a strong, collaborative community of trainers and facilitators committed to learning and excellence.
Maintain training-quality and fidelity oversight of GPS curricula, facilitator materials, trainer guides, presentations, session outlines, manuals, and related resources.
Develop and/or review session outlines and other implementation materials needed for consistent program delivery.
Monitor how curricula and materials are used in practice to ensure fidelity to the GPS model.
Provide feedback to the Curriculum Director based on trainer, facilitator, and participant experience and identify opportunities for clarification, revision, or improvement.
Identify content or material changes needed based on facilitator feedback, participant experience, or fidelity concerns and collaborate with program leadership and subject-matter experts on approved revisions.
Ensure trainers and facilitators are always working from the correct and most current materials.
Maintain clear version control and an organized system for all training materials.
Work with the Curriculum Director, program leadership, and subject-matter experts to implement approved curriculum and material changes.
Ensure approved changes are clearly communicated, understood, and consistently implemented across the training and facilitation team.
Help GPS build the trainer and facilitator capacity required for national growth.
Identify, develop, and mentor strong trainers and facilitators.
Develop scalable systems for onboarding, evaluating, coaching, and supporting trainers and facilitators.
Help determine staffing and trainer capacity for new programs and partnerships.
Support adaptation of GPS programming for new populations and settings while protecting core model fidelity.
Develop and maintain SOPs related to training quality, trainer development, facilitation, and fidelity.
Establish clear processes for observation, feedback, coaching, and performance improvement.
Track recurring issues and recommend improvements to training, materials, and systems.
Partner with program leadership to ensure participant feedback and evaluation findings inform continuous improvement.
