About The Position

Jerry.ai is seeking a Lead, Lifecycle & Brand Voice to fundamentally change how the company communicates with its customers. The role will focus on transforming transactional messaging into value-additive, relationship-driven content that builds trust and community. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting all customer-facing copy, from email sequences and push notifications to in-app tooltips and social media content. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role with the opportunity to build the brand's voice and playbook from the ground up, in partnership with the CEO. The company is looking for someone who can bring enthusiasm and trust to the often "dry" topics of car ownership, insurance, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in creative marketing with a heavy focus on copy and lifecycle marketing (email, SMS, social).
  • Experience working with consumer brands.
  • A portfolio showcasing both writing and creative craft.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Deep expertise in copywriting, audience development, and product positioning.
  • A great sense of the social media landscape and community dynamics (like Reddit).
  • Ability to translate complex, dry, and stressful topics into engaging, human, and accessible copy.
  • Ability to take qualitative data and user pain points and turn them into resonant, empathetic marketing copy.
  • Experience in fast-growing startups.
  • Comfortable pushing back on highly analytical, data-first teams to champion brand experience.

Responsibilities

  • Overhaul existing customer communications, including CRM, email, SMS, and in-app copy, shifting from functional and direct to value-additive and relationship-driven messaging.
  • Understand how to build trust and engagement through customer communications, working closely with Product, Design, Growth, and Customer Insights teams.
  • Drive customer growth and build brand affinity by producing creative organic content, potentially expanding into social media and other platforms as the brand voice takes shape.
  • Define the company's brand personality and voice across all organic surfaces, building the brand playbook in partnership with the CEO.
  • Craft engaging, human, and accessible copy for complex and potentially stressful topics like car insurance, loans, and repairs.
  • Engage with customers on platforms like Reddit, navigating conversations and representing the brand voice.
  • Champion the unmeasurable value of a great brand experience, even when pushing back against highly analytical, data-first teams.
