Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) / Veterinary Assistant
About The Position
Pinecrest is seeking an experienced lead Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or Veterinary Assistant to support the Practice Manager and hospital leadership with day-to-day operations at a busy three-doctor practice. The role contributes to improving hospital efficiency and workflow, supports scheduling and labor management, helps maintain DEA and OSHA compliance, assists with inventory management, and helps train and coach support staff. The position represents Pinecrest’s core values of Compassion, Advocacy, and Teamwork. All clinical tasks are performed under veterinarian supervision and as permitted by Michigan’s veterinary practice act. This is a full-time position scheduled for 38 to 40 hours per week, with open availability including rotating Saturdays and two closing shifts per week. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for eight or more hours, and restrain animals. Hourly pay is $24.00–$29.00, based on credential and experience.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in a lead role.
- Strong technical skills suited to a busy three-doctor practice.
- Experience monitoring anesthesia.
- Current Michigan Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) license for LVT candidates.
- Strong communication skills with clients and team members.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for eight or more hours, and restrain animals.
- Open availability, including rotating Saturdays, and ability to work two closing shifts per week.
Responsibilities
- Support the Practice Manager and Pinecrest leadership in day-to-day hospital operations.
