Lead Laundry Processor

hamprLos Angeles, CA

About The Position

As a Lead Laundry Processor, you will perform the same laundry tasks as other team members while also taking on leadership responsibilities. This includes setting a positive example, training new employees, ensuring high-quality work in the absence of a supervisor, and stepping in to resolve issues during busy periods or when problems arise. Your role is crucial in ensuring the team operates more smoothly.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience, with at least 1 year as lead.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain quality output at volume, with attention to customer care instructions and preferences.
  • Comfortable taking informal leadership of a small team — directing workflow, answering questions, and keeping people on task without formal authority.
  • Experience training or onboarding peers, even informally.
  • Proficient in reading and following customer care notes via the Hampr app or equivalent tablet-based platform.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality — a Lead who isn't there can't lead.
  • Positive, team-first attitude with the maturity to hold standards without creating friction.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process assigned laundry orders completely and on time — sorting, washing, drying, folding, and packaging — while maintaining Hampr's quality standards at every step.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for processors on your shift, answering questions, delegating orders, and escalating issues to the Facility Manager as needed.
  • Train new and developing processors on Hampr SOPs, equipment operation, care instruction protocols, and quality standards.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed orders before packaging, catching and correcting errors before they reach the customer.
  • Track order progress throughout your shift and move work around as needed so the team stays on pace and no orders fall behind.
  • Operate and oversee the folding robot alongside your team, managing both automated equipment and people to maximize floor efficiency and output quality.
  • Follow and enforce all SOPs for laundry processing, equipment use, and facility safety — including holding teammates accountable to the same standards.
  • Communicate proactively with the Facility Manager on order status, team performance issues, equipment concerns, and shift-end summaries.
  • Support surge coverage by stepping into high-volume processing when needed and helping the team finish strong.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout your shift.
  • Other duties as assigned.
