Lead Infrastructure Engineer

Moog Inc.•Aurora, IL
•$130,000 - $170,000•Hybrid

About The Position

The Lead Infrastructure Engineer provides senior technical leadership, architecture ownership, and delivery coordination for Moog’s Infrastructure Engineering team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not a people-manager position. The role sets architecture direction, makes complex technical decisions, guides work across a distributed team, and translates business demand into an executable roadmap and delivery plan. It requires deep engineering capability in Active Directory, Citrix, and server technologies, along with broad infrastructure engineering judgment to integrate expertise across the team. The team’s scope includes Active Directory, Windows Server, VMware virtualization, Citrix and virtual desktop services, storage, NAS, backup, disaster recovery, infrastructure security, and cyber-recovery capabilities. The role owns technical roadmaps, reference architectures, engineering standards, lifecycle strategy, and cross-domain delivery. It provides senior escalation support, coaches engineers, leads modernization and resilience work, and coordinates with business, security, network, operations, and partner stakeholders. The position is hybrid and requires regular onsite presence at Moog’s corporate headquarters in East Aurora, New York, in accordance with company requirements. It requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

  • Work with specialized engineers on implementation while retaining accountability for cross-domain design, technical risk, and delivery quality.
  • Convert business demand, technical risk, lifecycle requirements, and security priorities into a multi-PI Infrastructure Engineering roadmap.
  • Lead technical planning for Program Increment work, including scope, sequencing, dependencies, effort assumptions, risk management, and capacity trade-offs.
  • Maintain the technical quality of Infrastructure Engineering work tracked in Azure DevOps by structuring features and backlog items, clarifying acceptance criteria, identifying dependencies, reviewing status, and resolving blockers.
  • Coordinate engineering resources across infrastructure and partner teams to deliver committed work.
  • Provide concise technical status, risks, decisions, and roadmap recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
