About The Position

As a Discovery Point Childcare Lead Teacher, you will plan lessons and instruct children using an approved curriculum designed to promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development. You will establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment, participate in center functions, and develop positive relationships with families. This role also provides direction to other classroom staff and supports the daily organization and operation of the classroom. Requirements

Meet state licensing requirements for education and experience.
Have knowledge of early childhood education and curriculum.
Have knowledge of child care licensing rules and regulations.
Be able to obtain training in CPR, fire safety, and other required training.
Have a CDA or degree in early childhood education.
Meet all state requirements for a lead teacher.

Responsibilities

Implement weekly curricula that address learning goals.
Provide direction to other staff in the classroom.
Organize the classroom and follow a daily schedule.
Follow state and Discovery Point policies and regulations.
Communicate in a friendly, professional manner with parents, staff, and management.
Maintain a welcoming, upbeat, and positive classroom atmosphere.
Maintain classroom safety and cleanliness.
Plan lessons and instruct children in activities that support social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
Establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.
Participate in center functions and develop positive relationships with family members.
