About The Position

United Flea Markets is seeking an experienced, approachable, and highly organized Lead Human Resources Generalist to serve as a trusted partner to the HR Director. This position will serve as a trusted partner to the HR Director and provide day-to-day HR support across our multistate organization. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and comfortable balancing recruiting, employee relations, investigations, workers’ compensation, compliance, payroll support, and other HR priorities in a fast-paced environment. This role offers broad exposure to multiple areas of Human Resources and the opportunity to make a visible impact across a unique and growing organization.

Requirements

  • Four or more years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, workplace investigations, and HR administration.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience using ADP or a comparable HRIS and applicant-tracking system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating with leaders and team members.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other company locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or a related Human Resources certification.
  • Experience supporting employees and leaders across multiple locations or states.
  • Working knowledge of workers’ compensation, leave administration, workplace accommodations, and return-to-work processes.
  • Professional fluency in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for positions across the United Flea Markets platform.
  • Create, update, post, and manage job advertisements.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and position requirements.
  • Review applicants, conduct screenings, coordinate interviews, and support hiring decisions.
  • Monitor applicant pipelines and maintain accurate candidate notes and statuses in ADP.
  • Coordinate offer letters, background checks, employment eligibility verification, and pre-employment requirements.
  • Support new-hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Prepare recruiting reports, metrics, and hiring updates for leadership.
  • Serve as an approachable day-to-day resource for employees and managers.
  • Respond to workplace concerns promptly, professionally, and confidentially.
  • Conduct or support employee-relations investigations, interviews, and documentation.
  • Participate in disciplinary meetings, performance discussions, and terminations.
  • Guide managers through coaching, corrective action, attendance, and performance concerns.
  • Interpret company policies and help ensure fair and consistent application.
  • Escalate complex, sensitive, or high-risk matters to the HR Director.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, and workplace-culture initiatives.
  • Support workers’ compensation administration, including timely injury reporting and claim documentation.
  • Communicate with employees, managers, medical providers, and claims representatives throughout the claim process.
  • Track work restrictions, medical updates, and claim-related follow-up requirements.
  • Assist with return-to-work planning and temporary modified-duty assignments.
  • Support incident tracking and required workers’ compensation or OSHA-related documentation.
  • Assist with FMLA, ADA, leave-of-absence, and workplace accommodation processes.
  • Help coordinate safety training and other workplace-injury prevention initiatives.
  • Support the daily workflow and priorities of the HR Department.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and confidential HR documentation.
  • Assist with employee status changes, terminations, and exit processes.
  • Support payroll review, timecard accuracy, reporting, and ADP data maintenance.
  • Respond to questions involving payroll, benefits, policies, leave, and HR procedures.
  • Assist with benefits administration and annual open enrollment.
  • Track required training, certifications, continuing education, and company assessments.
  • Coordinate safety, anti-harassment, leadership, and compliance training.
  • Prepare HR dashboards, reports, and workforce metrics.
  • Update HR forms, policies, procedures, and employee resources.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws affecting a multistate workforce.
  • Support special HR projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • May help coordinate the assignments, scheduling, and daily workflow of HR support staff.
  • May assist with training, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Help ensure HR responsibilities and requests are completed accurately and on time.
