About The Position

San Joaquin Valley Rehabilitation Hospital in Fresno, California, is a 62-bed acute rehabilitation hospital serving people recovering from disabilities caused by injuries or illnesses. The hospital provides a fast-paced, friendly work environment focused on helping patients regain abilities and return home as independently as possible.

The Lead Housekeeper performs cleaning duties to ensure the hospital’s physical environment meets established cleanliness, sanitation, infection-control, and safety standards. Duties include cleaning floors and furniture with a variety of equipment and chemicals, as well as scheduling and mentoring new staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years of housekeeping experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally with hospital staff.
• Ability to write and understand written instructions.
• Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of housekeeping experience preferred.
• Previous healthcare housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties to maintain the hospital’s cleanliness and sanitation standards.
