About The Position

The Lead Foreman takes on a broader leadership role, managing larger crews or more complex tasks, ensuring high-quality work, coordinating schedules, handling resources and materials, and addressing more advanced challenges on-site. This position has greater decision-making authority and is more involved in project coordination and leadership.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must possess valid driver's license.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of supervisory experience in construction.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, NCCER)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a larger or more diverse crew, including multiple trades, workers, and subcontractors.
  • Provide direction and guidance, ensuring all workers understand their roles and responsibilities for the day.
  • Foster team collaboration and ensures that everyone is working towards the same project goals.
  • Works closely with the Superintendent or Project Manager to develop and adjust schedules based on project progress and any delays.
  • Ensure that all crew members are following the schedule and that tasks are being completed in the proper sequence.
  • Oversee the quality of the work being performed, making sure that it meets or exceeds industry standards, local codes, and client specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues in real-time, providing corrective action when necessary.
  • Coordinate with inspectors or engineers to ensure that work passes inspections or meets required compliance standards.
  • Take a more active role in ensuring that safety standards are met on-site, conducting safety audits and implementing corrective actions when safety violations are identified.
  • Lead safety meetings or briefings, ensuring that the crew is up to date on the latest safety regulations and practices.
  • Manages the day-to-day distribution of materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring that all items are in good working condition and ready for use.
  • Identifies potential shortages in materials or equipment and works with management to address these issues before they cause delays.
  • Prepare detailed reports for upper management, tracks project milestones, and updates schedules
