About The Position

Sanford Health is hiring a Lead Food Service Assistant at Good Samaritan Albion. The role provides direction to food service staff according to quality standards and supports daily food service operations. Duties include monitoring and recording food temperatures, setting up and maintaining clean and sanitized serving areas, preparing and serving food, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and accepting payment for food and beverages using a computerized register. The position follows Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines and requires customer service, communication, and the ability to work independently when necessary. On-the-job training will be provided. Depending on location, the employee may need to complete a Diet Therapy Class and pass its exams, and may be required to obtain Serv Safe certification within a designated time frame, typically one year.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to perform basic math.
Ability to be on feet for most of the day and walk long distances.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Food industry experience.
Depending on location, at least two years of food service experience preferred.
Previous leadership experience preferred.
