Lead Fire, Contents, and Specialty Cleaning Technician
About The Position
Rainbow Restoration of Chesapeake is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Lead Technician for their Fire, Contents & Specialty Cleaning Division. This division handles detailed and sensitive work, including fire and smoke damage, contents cleaning, pack-outs and pack-backs, odor removal, hoarding cleanup, trauma scene cleanup, specialty cleaning, and other challenging restoration situations. The ideal candidate can work with their hands, lead a small crew, stay organized, and treat customers and their belongings with care and respect. This is a full-time field position that may require occasional after-hours, weekend, or emergency work due to the nature of restoration projects.
Requirements
- Restoration, contents, cleaning, moving, construction, remediation, or similar hands-on experience
- Experience leading a crew or readiness to step into a leadership role
- Extremely organized and pays attention to details
- Ability to follow processes and documentation requirements
- Understanding that a customer's belongings need to be treated with care
- Comfortable working in environments affected by smoke, odor, heavy clutter, or significant property damage
- Ability to maintain professionalism in emotionally difficult situations
- Dependable and accountable
- Communicates problems instead of hiding them
- Ability to give clear direction while treating coworkers respectfully
- Comfortable using smartphones, apps, photos, and technology for documentation
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Responsibilities
- Lead technicians on fire, contents, and specialty cleaning projects
- Assist with fire and smoke damage cleaning
- Clean and deodorize structures, contents, and affected materials
- Perform contents pack-outs and pack-backs
- Inventory, photograph, label, and track customer contents
- Help protect and properly handle customer belongings
- Perform odor-removal and specialty cleaning services
- Assist with hoarding cleanup projects
- Assist with trauma and biohazard cleanup when properly trained and assigned
- Establish containment and follow required PPE and safety procedures
- Maintain organized work areas, vehicles, equipment, and contents storage
- Take clear photos and complete required job documentation
- Communicate project progress and concerns to the Project Manager/Division Manager
- Direct and support technicians assigned to the project
- Help ensure work is completed according to scope, company standards, and safety requirements
- Provide professional and compassionate customer service
