About The Position

NextGen Technologies is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join its service crew in the Savannah market. The company has provided commercial fire protection and low-voltage services in the market for more than 20 years. The technician will independently install, service, inspect, and program commercial fire alarm systems; respond to service calls; complete NFPA 72 inspections and testing; document work; and coordinate acceptance tests with the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on commercial fire alarm experience; candidates with 3 or more years may be considered.
• Solid low-voltage fundamentals, including conduit, terminations, and schematics.
• Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR).

Nice To Haves

• NICET II certification is preferred but not required; the company will pay for the employee to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, inspect, and program commercial fire alarm systems, including Notifier, Silent Knight, and Fire-Lite systems.
• Run service calls and troubleshoot panels, devices, NACs, and IDCs/SLCs.
• Perform annual inspections and testing in accordance with NFPA 72.
• Read prints, pull permits, work cleanly, and document jobs.
• Coordinate with the AHJ on acceptance tests.
