As a Lead Field Service Technician, where you will be responsible for testing, maintaining, and repairing a wide array of electrical equipment, including low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor controls, and more. Requirements

  • 5-7 years’ related experience in power plants, industrial services, primary power distribution and related protection and control schemes.
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing) due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.
  • Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, job management ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerDB, Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred.
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or an Electrical Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited college, similar experience and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee)

Responsibilities

  • Performing testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests.
  • Completing mechanical work and repairs on breakers, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement.
  • Utilizing and accurately reading meters.
  • Reading schematics and wiring drawings.
  • Troubleshooting circuit controls.
  • Reading and plotting time-current curves.
  • Reading and understanding of electrical one-line drawings and symbols.
  • Testing power and current transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.
  • Accurately and consistently documenting using Power DB.
  • Able to work with electrical testing equipment and tools.
