Test & PCBA Debug Engineer-(ICT, Functional, and RF testing)

Celestica International LP•Plano, TX

About The Position

The Lead Engineer, Test Manufacturing accepts, transfers, installs, improves, and maintains automatic test equipment and test programs used for product testing and design verification. The role may support test development for equipment and processes to ensure robust, high-quality test solutions and final products. It may also involve developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive test processes for electronic components and fully assembled products. The position defines, specifies, qualifies, installs, supports, and optimizes manufacturing test processes and equipment. It leads test-process optimization to improve productivity, cycle time, and yield across a broad range of equipment within an Operations value stream. The engineer debugs test processes and equipment, collaborates with Quality, Process, and Equipment engineers to resolve product and test-yield issues, analyzes yield reports and equipment logs, and supports improvements to defect detection and Manufacturing Execution System integration. Testing responsibilities include board-level ICT, functional, and RF testing, as well as assembly-level validation, burn-in, and end-of-line testing.

Requirements

  • Typical experience of 1 to 3 years.
  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of board-level testing, including In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Functional Testing (FCT), RF testing, and Hi-Pot.
  • Knowledge of assembly-level testing, including system integration testing, final product validation, burn-in testing, and end-of-line testing.

Responsibilities

  • Define, specify, qualify, install, support, and optimize manufacturing test processes and equipment solutions.
  • Lead test-process optimization focused on productivity, cycle time, and yield improvements across a broad set of test equipment.
  • Debug test processes and equipment using design of experiments, tools, and failure-analysis methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Process, and Equipment engineers to detect and resolve product and test-yield or performance issues.
  • Develop improvement roadmaps for test coverage, diagnosability, reparability, test-time reduction, and OEE.
  • Analyze yield reports, equipment logs, and product diagnostics to identify sources of yield loss.
  • Support Process Engineers in improving detection of known defect types as part of a Process Control plan.
  • Support integration of test equipment with Manufacturing Execution Systems, including yield, tester-log, and product-parametric information.
  • Execute board-level diagnostics, including ICT, functional, and RF testing.
  • Manage assembly-level validation, including burn-in and end-of-line testing, to support product reliability and quality compliance before shipment.
