About The Position

The Lead Engineer, Test Manufacturing accepts, transfers, installs, improves, and maintains automatic test equipment and test programs used for product testing and design verification. The role may also support development of test equipment and processes to ensure robust, high-quality test solutions and final products. It develops, implements, and oversees comprehensive test processes for electronic components and fully assembled products, including board-level diagnostics (ICT, Functional, and RF testing) and assembly-level validation such as burn-in and end-of-line (EOL) testing, to support product reliability and quality compliance before shipment. The position defines, specifies, qualifies, installs, supports, and optimizes manufacturing test processes and equipment. It leads test-process optimization to improve productivity, cycle time, and yield across a broad range of test equipment within an Operations value stream. It also analyzes test and product data, collaborates with Quality, Process, and Equipment engineers to resolve issues, develops improvement roadmaps, supports defect detection plans, and contributes to integrating test equipment with Manufacturing Execution Systems.

Requirements

  • Typical experience of 1 to 3 years.
  • Bachelor degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of board-level testing, including In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Functional Testing (FCT), RF testing, and Hi-Pot.
  • Knowledge of assembly-level testing, including system integration testing, final product validation, burn-in testing, and End-of-Line (EOL) testing.

Responsibilities

  • Define, specify, qualify, install, support, and optimize manufacturing test processes and equipment solutions.
  • Lead test-process optimization focused on productivity, cycle-time, and yield improvements across test equipment in an Operations value stream.
  • Debug test processes and equipment using design of experiments, tools, and failure-analysis methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Process, and Equipment engineers to identify and resolve product, test-yield, and performance issues.
  • Develop improvement roadmaps for test coverage, diagnosability, reparability, test-time reduction, and OEE.
  • Analyze yield reports, equipment logs, and product diagnostics to determine sources of yield loss.
  • Support Process Engineers in improving detection of known defect types as part of a Process Control plan.
  • Support integration of test equipment with Manufacturing Execution Systems, including yield, tester-log, and product-parametric information.
  • Execute board-level testing, including ICT, functional, RF, and Hi-Pot testing, and assembly-level validation, including system integration, burn-in, and EOL testing.
