About The Position

Silvus Technologies is seeking an RF Test Engineer for its RF Engineering team. Reporting to the Director of RF Engineering, the successful candidate will participate in all aspects of the design process to develop the RF subsystem for Silvus’ StreamCaster MANET product line. The position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, at the company’s office in Rancho Bernardo/North San Diego, California. Rare local travel may be required, such as to Irvine or West Los Angeles. Duties may be assigned or reassigned at management’s discretion. The role uses RF test equipment to evaluate system performance, compatibility, and operational issues; executes RF tests and generates reports; defines verification matrices and internal RF performance specifications; reviews test data against requirements; and recommends improvements to test strategies and techniques. It also involves designing test fixtures, calibrating test equipment, and properly handling sensitive RF circuits and equipment. The position requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, at least two years of multi-GHz RF hardware development experience, working knowledge of RF board layout, fabrication, and packaging, hands-on experience resolving EMI, harmonics, spurious, and stability issues, and experience with RF simulation tools such as AWR Microwave Office or Altium. Candidates must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen or permanent resident). Employment is contingent on successfully clearing a background check and drug test. The work takes place primarily in an indoor, air-conditioned office and laboratory environment, with occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens during field tests or demonstrations. Physical duties include lifting equipment up to 20 pounds, bending and reaching, kneeling or squatting, and walking or moving in laboratories. The stated California pay range is $100,000–$140,000 USD. The range is not a guarantee; actual compensation depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
