Test Engineer-(ICT, Functional, and RF testing)

Celestica International LP•Plano, TX

About The Position

The Lead Engineer, Test Manufacturing accepts, transfers, installs, improves, and maintains automatic test equipment and test programs used for product testing and design verification. The role may also support test development for equipment and processes to ensure robust, high-quality test solutions and final products. The position develops, implements, and oversees test processes for electronic components and fully assembled products. It performs board-level diagnostics, including ICT, functional, and RF testing, and manages assembly-level validation, including burn-in and end-of-line testing, to support product reliability and quality compliance before shipment. It defines, qualifies, installs, supports, and optimizes manufacturing test processes and equipment; improves productivity, cycle time, and yield; debugs test processes and equipment; and collaborates with engineering and quality teams to identify and address product and test performance issues. The role also develops improvement roadmaps, analyzes yield and equipment data, improves defect detection, and supports test equipment integration with Manufacturing Execution Systems.

Requirements

  • Typical experience of 1 to 3 years.
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of board-level In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Functional Testing (FCT), Radio Frequency (RF) testing, and Hi-Pot testing.
  • Knowledge of assembly-level system integration testing, final product validation, burn-in testing, and End-of-Line (EOL) testing.

Responsibilities

  • Define, specify, qualify, install, support, and optimize test processes and test equipment solutions for manufacturing without assistance.
  • Lead test process optimization, focusing on productivity improvements to cycle time and yield across a broad set of test equipment within an Operations value stream.
  • Debug test processes and equipment solutions using design of experiments, tools, and failure analysis methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Process, and Equipment engineers to detect and solve product and test yield and performance issues.
  • Develop improvement roadmaps for test coverage, diagnosability, reparability, test time reductions, and OEE.
  • Analyze and interpret yield reports, equipment logs, and product diagnostics to determine sources of yield loss.
  • Support Process Engineers in improving detection of known defect types as part of a Process Control plan.
  • Support development of test equipment integration into Manufacturing Execution Systems, including yield, tester log, and product parametric information.
  • Execute board-level diagnostics and testing, including ICT, functional, and RF testing.
  • Manage assembly-level validation, including burn-in and end-of-line testing.
