About The Position

The Lead Engineer, Test Manufacturing accepts, transfers, installs, improves, and maintains automatic test equipment and test programs used for product testing and design verification. The role may support test-equipment and process development to ensure robust, high-quality test solutions and final products. It may also involve developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive test processes for electronic components and fully assembled products. The engineer defines, specifies, qualifies, installs, supports, and optimizes manufacturing test processes and equipment. The position leads test-process optimization across a broad set of equipment in an Operations value stream, with a focus on productivity improvements to cycle time and yield. It also supports board-level and assembly-level testing, including validation, burn-in, and end-of-line testing, to ensure product reliability and quality compliance before shipment. Duties are performed in a normal office environment and may require extended sitting, sustained visual concentration, and frequent repetitive computer-related movements. Occasional travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typical experience: 1 to 3 years.
  • Knowledge of board-level testing, including In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Functional Testing (FCT), RF testing, and Hi-Pot.
  • Knowledge of assembly-level testing, including system integration testing, final product validation, burn-in testing, and end-of-line testing.

Responsibilities

  • Define, specify, qualify, install, support, and optimize manufacturing test processes and equipment.
  • Lead test-process optimization, focusing on cycle-time and yield productivity improvements across a broad set of test equipment within an Operations value stream.
  • Debug test processes and equipment using design of experiments, tools, and failure-analysis methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Process, and Equipment engineers to detect and resolve product and test yield or performance issues.
  • Develop improvement roadmaps for test coverage, diagnosability, reparability, test-time reductions, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Analyze and interpret yield reports, equipment logs, and product diagnostics to identify sources of yield loss.
  • Support Process Engineers in improving detection of known defect types as part of a Process Control plan.
  • Support integration of test equipment into Manufacturing Execution Systems, including yield, tester-log, and product-parametric information.
  • Execute board-level diagnostics, including ICT, functional, and RF testing.
  • Manage assembly-level validation, including burn-in and end-of-line testing, to support product reliability and quality compliance before shipment.
