About The Position

FST Technical Services is seeking an experienced Lead Document Control Specialist to support a major pharmaceutical manufacturing construction project in Lebanon, Indiana. This is a high-profile, fast-paced assignment where document accuracy, quality, traceability, and compliance are essential to project success. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using the EIDA software platform and the leadership ability to coordinate document control activities across owners, contractors, engineering teams, QA/QC, commissioning, and project stakeholders. This position is open to qualified U.S. citizens/Permanent residents located anywhere in the country who are willing to travel and mobilize to the project site. Regular home trips are allowable based on project scope and timeline.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of document control experience supporting large industrial construction, engineering, or capital projects.
  • Direct, hands-on experience using EIDA document management software is required.
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical, life sciences, biotechnology, semiconductor, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering documentation, construction workflows, document lifecycles, revision management, and project turnover requirements.
  • Experience managing large volumes of technical documentation across multiple contractors and project disciplines.
  • Strong organizational, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to document quality and compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven construction environment.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 is required prior to start of job.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supporting a pharmaceutical greenfield, brownfield, expansion, or campus construction project.
  • Experience supporting QA/QC, commissioning, qualification, validation, or project turnover teams.
  • Prior EPC, owner-side, construction management, or general contractor project experience.
  • Previous lead, supervisory, or team-coordination experience within a document control function.
  • Familiarity with FDA-regulated, GMP, or controlled-document environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project documentation throughout the construction lifecycle while ensuring compliance with client standards, quality requirements, and established document control procedures.
  • Support and help manage up to 3 offsite Doc Control Specialist working from our Durham, NC Life Science office.
  • Lead onsite document control activities for a major pharmaceutical facility construction project.
  • Serve as the project subject matter expert for the EIDA document management software platform.
  • Manage engineering drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, change documentation, transmittals, turnover records, and other controlled project documents.
  • Maintain accurate document numbering, revision control, distribution, approval status, and complete traceability.
  • Coordinate document flow among the owner, EPC team, contractors, subcontractors, QA/QC, commissioning, qualification, and project management personnel.
  • Review incoming documentation for accuracy, completeness, formatting, naming conventions, and compliance before release or routing.
  • Develop and maintain document registers, status reports, overdue-item tracking, audit records, and turnover package logs.
  • Support construction completion, QA/QC inspections, commissioning, qualification, validation, and final project closeout activities.
  • Train, guide, and mentor additional document control personnel as project staffing needs expand.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase document quality, consistency, and efficiency.
