About The Position
A. Duie Pyle is seeking an experienced Lead Diesel Mechanic to join its Fleet Maintenance team at the Rochester, NY shop. The role focuses on routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to heavy-duty trucks and their systems. The position starts at 7:00 AM, Monday through Friday, and pays $30.00–$45.00 per hour based on experience and skillset, plus a $3.00-per-hour lead differential. Overtime is paid after 40 hours. Employees work with modern equipment in clean shops and may use the company-funded tool reimbursement program. A. Duie Pyle is a family-owned and operated business established in 1924.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience repairing or maintaining Class 8 trucks.
- A complete set of hand tools for a heavy-duty truck technician.
- Willingness to learn and grow abilities.
- Ability to work independently with a can-do attitude.
Nice To Haves
- Vocational or technical training in diesel or heavy-duty vehicles.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks.
- Troubleshoot and repair brakes, air systems, electrical components, suspension systems, and related systems.
- Diagnose and perform necessary repairs to engines, electrical systems, and exhaust after-treatment systems.
- Inspect and replace general components as required.
