About The Position

The Lead Deployment Architect is the most senior technical authority within delivery, owning end-to-end solution architecture for a portfolio of strategic customer engagements. The role covers the full solution lifecycle—from data foundations and process intelligence through operational applications, automation, governance, production readiness, and long-term value realization. The architect defines delivery standards and reusable patterns, resolves complex escalations, and remains hands-on in demonstrating and applying those standards. The role designs and delivers scalable enterprise solutions, including data integration and strategy, end-user application design, security and access, change management, and operational practices that sustain value after go-live. It uses AI-assisted and agentic tools to improve delivery while applying architectural judgment to determine where AI, custom models, or fixed business rules are appropriate. The Lead Deployment Architect leads technical reviews and customer executive discussions, bridges pre-sales and post-sales, scopes and estimates work, and validates that proposed solutions can be delivered and scaled. The role also advises strategic customers on transformation roadmaps and Process Intelligence maturity, mentors technical staff, contributes to hiring and practice development, and feeds customer and field insights to Product and Engineering.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in technical consulting, forward deployed engineering, solution or enterprise architecture, or delivery leadership in enterprise software, consulting, or systems integration.
  • At least 3 years in a senior or lead technical role with multi-stakeholder responsibility on large-scale enterprise projects.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver complex end-to-end enterprise solutions spanning data integration, process intelligence, operational applications, and automation.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise architecture patterns, security, governance, and architectural trade-offs.
  • Deep, demonstrable knowledge of SQL, Python, Bash or shell scripting, and REST or SOAP APIs.
  • Familiarity with a general-purpose programming language such as Golang, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or equivalent.
  • Expert-level knowledge of the Celonis platform, including the Process Intelligence Graph, data modeling, advanced PQL, Python scripting, and automation and orchestration capabilities.
  • Comfort directing AI-assisted and agentic development tools, including writing clear specifications, evaluating generated output, and iterating effectively.
  • Ability to assess where AI is appropriate versus fixed business rules and recognize when a custom model or autonomous AI system requires specialist support.
  • Track record of building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, presenting transformation strategies, defending architectural decisions, and navigating complex IT environments and organizational dynamics.
  • Experience owning technical delivery and escalations end to end, scoping and estimating pre-sales work, and leading workshops, design sessions, and strategic reviews with senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor technical staff, set quality standards, and improve team and organizational capability.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Technology Management, Business Informatics, or a comparable field.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations as required by project delivery phases.

  • Define secure, scalable technical blueprints for integrating the Celonis platform with customer systems and data strategies, accounting for long-term growth, concurrency, and maintainability.
  • Make and explain architectural trade-offs, including build versus configure, custom versus standard, and phased versus big-bang approaches, based on customer outcomes.
  • Conduct design and code reviews and ensure teams follow architectural standards through production readiness.
  • Lead technical delivery on complex engagements, set direction, remove dependencies, and resolve escalations related to timelines, scope, and customer expectations.
  • Support pre-sales by scoping Services, estimating effort, validating feasibility, and ensuring proposed work can be delivered and scaled in production.
  • Implement early-stage Celonis capabilities for customers and maintain feedback cycles with Product and Engineering.
  • Define long-term solution operating models, including monitoring, access and security controls, change management, and quality practices as solutions scale.
  • Advise strategic customers and senior executives, building trusted relationships with business and technology leaders.
  • Translate business challenges into platform strategies, identify high-impact use cases, define success metrics, and frame value in terms of outcomes.
  • Guide customers on Process Intelligence maturity, platform expansion, IT change management, data security, AI readiness, and organizational change; engage Celonis experts as appropriate.
  • Develop expertise in process domains or industry verticals and turn that knowledge into reusable solution patterns, reference architectures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Product and Business Apps teams to inform the platform roadmap.
  • Mentor Deployment Engineers through technical guidance, design and code reviews, and career development toward senior and architect roles.
  • Contribute to hiring by defining role standards, interviewing candidates, and calibrating assessments.
  • Share knowledge through enablement sessions, documentation, internal tooling, and community-of-practice leadership; provide field insights to Product and Engineering.
  • Build reusable assets and reference architectures and share lessons from production-grade projects across regions.
