About The Position

Ideal Dental is seeking a Lead Dental Assistant to support patients and the dental team in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. The role assists with dental procedures, patient preparation and education, diagnostic imaging and scans, treatment documentation, infection control, and the daily flow of the practice. The position works collaboratively with the practice team to provide a positive patient experience and support quality care.

Requirements

• Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license.
• Current CPR certification.
• At least 2 years of experience as an RDA in a dental practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists with a wide range of dental procedures and help patients remain comfortable during treatment.
• Take dental X-rays to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Prepare and break down treatment rooms and operatories, keeping them clean, organized, and ready for use.
• Manage patient flow, facilitate handoffs, and support patient transitions throughout visits.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and prepare them for the dentist’s examination.
• Take impressions and bite registrations for custom dental appliances.
• Use the iTero scanner to conduct digital scans.
• Assist with patient charting and documentation, including recording medical history and charting existing and recommended treatments.
• Greet guests and collaborate with the practice team to deliver quality care and patient satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as required to support the office.
