About The Position

HF Sinclair is seeking a Lead Crude Oil Truck Scheduler / Dispatcher in Artesia, New Mexico. The role provides advanced technical support for coordinating crude oil truck scheduling and dispatch to support efficient, timely deliveries. The position works closely with drivers, logistics teams, crude oil traders and schedulers, and third-party customers. It may lead the work of others from time to time and provides subject-matter guidance to junior team members. The position oversees daily truck schedules, communicates delivery and routing changes, monitors truck progress using tracking systems, and helps resolve scheduling and operational issues. It also assists the manager with plans to prevent or address delays and emergencies, maintains compliance with applicable safety regulations, and prepares performance reports to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The role is office-based, requires up to 5% travel by land and air, and may require an on-call schedule depending on the assignment. Work may be needed outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends. The employee may be subject to varying road and weather conditions.

Requirements

At least five years of experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with MS Office products and applicable mainframe applications, such as SAP.
Experience as a scheduler, dispatcher, or logistics coordinator; oil and gas industry experience is preferred in the posting's description of this experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and build relationships with drivers, crude oil suppliers and producers, and team members.
Proficiency with scheduling software, transportation management, and GPS tracking systems.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements for crude oil transportation.
Ability to interpret data, generate reports, and identify process-improvement opportunities.
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when necessary, including evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

Five years of trucking dispatching or scheduling experience.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily crude oil transportation truck schedules, taking into account supplier and producer demand, driver availability, route optimization, and safety regulations.
Act as a team lead and provide subject-matter guidance to more junior team members.
Communicate delivery requirements, traffic patterns, and road-condition changes to help develop optimal routes for drivers and reduce travel time, fuel consumption, and costs while supporting productivity and customer satisfaction.
Communicate regularly with truck drivers, logistics personnel, and crude suppliers and producers to support smooth operations and resolve problems.
Gather and analyze tracking-system and software data to monitor truck progress against planned schedules.
Work with the manager to develop effective plans to prevent or respond promptly to delays, issues, and emergencies.
Maintain and follow applicable regulations and safety guidelines for crude oil transportation.
Assist the team in resolving scheduling conflicts, logistical challenges, and operational issues during transportation.
Prepare performance metrics reports for the supervisor to help identify efficiency and cost-effectiveness improvements.
Monitor collaboration with internal teams, assist with practical solutions, and eliminate potential disruptions.
Perform special assignments or tasks as directed by the supervisor.
