About The Position

HF Sinclair is seeking a Lead Crude Oil Truck Scheduler / Dispatcher in Artesia, New Mexico. This role provides advanced technical support for coordinating the scheduling and dispatching of crude oil transportation trucks, ensuring efficient and timely deliveries. The position works closely with drivers, logistics teams, Crude Oil Traders, Crude Oil Schedulers, and third-party customers to optimize transportation and maintain operational excellence. The employee may lead the work of others from time to time and provides subject matter guidance to more junior team members. The position is office-based, with up to 5% travel by land and air. Work may involve varying road and weather conditions and, depending on the assignment, an on-call schedule. Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary. Requirements

At least five years of experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong organizational skills, time management, and ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and applicable mainframe applications such as SAP.
Experience as a scheduler, dispatcher, or logistics coordinator; oil and gas industry experience is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and build relationships with drivers, crude oil suppliers and producers, and team members.
Proficiency in scheduling software, transportation management, and GPS tracking systems.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements related to crude oil transportation.
Analytical ability to interpret data, generate reports, and identify process-improvement opportunities.
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when necessary, including evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

Five years of trucking dispatching or scheduling experience.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily crude oil transportation truck schedules, taking supplier and producer demand, driver availability, route optimization, and safety regulations into account.
Act as a team lead and provide subject matter guidance to more junior team members.
Communicate delivery requirements, traffic patterns, and road-condition changes, and develop efficient routes that minimize travel time, fuel consumption, and costs while supporting productivity and customer satisfaction.
Communicate regularly with truck drivers, logistics personnel, and crude suppliers and producers to support smooth operations and resolve problems.
Gather and analyze data from tracking systems and software to monitor truck progress and adherence to planned schedules.
Work with the manager to develop effective plans and promptly address delays, issues, or emergencies to minimize disruptions and support on-time deliveries.
Maintain and follow applicable regulations and safety guidelines governing crude oil transportation.
Assist the team in resolving scheduling conflicts, logistical challenges, and operational issues arising during transportation.
Prepare performance metrics reports for the supervisor to help identify opportunities to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Monitor collaboration with internal teams, assist with practical solutions, and eliminate potential disruptions.
Perform other special assignments or tasks as directed by the supervisor.
