Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted license to practice occupational therapy in the state of Arkansas as approved by the Arkansas State Medical Board
  • Current NBCOT certification
  • Must have completed 1 year of clinical experience, pediatric setting preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Minimal travel may be required to supervise COTAs from multiple locations within a 30-mile radius.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality services to children and their families through evaluation, intervention planning, and direct supervision of multiple COTAs.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the delivery of occupational therapy services involving evaluation implementation, addendums, intervention planning, and discharge paperwork.
  • Evaluates children using appropriate protocols and tools to follow funding guidelines.
  • Creates appropriate goals and objectives to be submitted with each evaluation.
  • Provides oversight to the COTA to ensure competency of clinical reasoning and performance of specific treatment intervention methods related to the practice of occupational therapy.
  • Assists with onboarding of COTAs, including caseload review and paperwork processes.
  • Follows all guidelines as set by the Arkansas State Medical Board for supervision of a COTA.
  • Provides onsite, face-to-face supervision to the COTA a minimum of 1 hour per 40 OT work hours performed by the COTA to review child’s progress and objectives.
  • Responsible for scheduling all evaluations, treatment sessions, and team meetings.
  • Reviews notes to ensure accuracy and compliance with funding source requirements.
  • Provides direct treatment to each child once a month on COTA caseload to review child’s progress and objectives.
  • Signs monthly log documenting supervision activities.
  • Completes additional paperwork requirements in an accurate and timely manner as notified by administration, including annual re-evaluations, addendums, discharge summaries, and early intervention paperwork (if required).
