About The Position

Cooper River Post Acute, a magnificent 176-bed skilled nursing facility located in Mount Pleasant, SC, is seeking a disciplined, creative kitchen professional to serve as a Lead Cook. This role is essential for leading the kitchen team, ensuring smooth, fast, and flawless service. The Lead Cook acts as the connection between leadership and execution, guiding the team, maintaining high standards, and contributing to an unforgettable guest experience every shift. Requirements

  • Proven success in a high-volume professional kitchen (3+ years preferred).
  • Cool under pressure with the ability to motivate and direct a team during the rush.
  • Advanced knife skills and strong knowledge of sautéing, roasting, grilling, and more.
  • Able to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid food handler’s permit or ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and service, making sure every station is stocked, prepped, and ready for peak hours.
  • Taste, garnish, and inspect dishes before they leave the window to ensure consistency and excellence every time.
  • Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety procedures, and menu specs. Help others level up.
  • Manage prep lists, monitor stock levels, and assist with ordering to reduce waste and keep things efficient.
  • Maintain a spotless workspace and ensure the entire team follows health and safety standards.
