About The Position

Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is currently accepting applications for a Lead Carpenter position. This class is the lead and advanced journey level in the Carpenter series. Incumbents in this class are responsible for providing technical assistance and training to, and guiding, checking, assigning, and correcting the work of, a group of Carpenters. In addition, incumbents perform the most difficult, complex, and/or sensitive assignments related to the carpentry trade.

Requirements

• Six (6) years of full-time paid experience as a carpenter
• Two (2) years of experience at the journey level
• Two (2) years of experience in a commercial and/or industrial environment
• Successful completion of a four-year state accredited carpenter apprenticeship program may substitute for four (4) years of the non-journey level experience
• A General Building Contractor license will be accepted as a substitute for the minimum qualifications

Responsibilities

• Providing technical assistance and training to Carpenters
• Guiding, checking, assigning, and correcting the work of Carpenters
• Performing the most difficult, complex, and/or sensitive assignments related to the carpentry trade
