About The Position

Custom Craft is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter who enjoys not only the craft of carpentry but also project organization, problem-solving, and building strong relationships. This role combines hands-on field work with project coordination, communication, and daily jobsite execution to ensure residential remodeling projects exceed expectations. You will be responsible for leading day-to-day operations, performing skilled carpentry, coordinating with subcontractors, communicating with homeowners, documenting progress, interpreting blueprints, maintaining schedules and safety, mentoring junior carpenters, and ensuring jobsite cleanliness and organization.

Requirements

5+ years of residential remodeling or custom home construction experience.
Proven experience leading projects or coordinating field crews.
Strong carpentry skills including framing, finish work, trim, cabinetry, and remodeling.
Comfortable using construction management software and digital tools.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Professional carpentry tools.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations on residential remodeling projects.
Perform skilled carpentry throughout all phases of construction.
Coordinate work with subcontractors and trade partners.
Communicate professionally with homeowners and provide project updates.
Use construction management software to document progress and daily activities.
Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
Help maintain project schedules, quality standards, and jobsite safety.
Mentor less experienced carpenters.
Keep jobsites clean, organized, and respectful of clients' homes.
Identify field challenges and work with the team to develop practical solutions.
