About The Position

As an emerging leader, under the direction of the Supervisor, provides support in training, team cohesion, and may act as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Career Navigator functions. Model and be an advocate for operational excellence and high-quality customer service practices. Continue to function as Career Navigator with specified lead duties including but not limited to detailed case management, authorizing and coordinating supportive services, closely tracking obligations for participant reimbursement funds, outreach, and follow-up. Meet with participants to identify barriers to employment and develop strategies to manage these issues. Maintain caseload and keep complete, accurate, and timely case notes and related records in manual and/or electronic systems, and monitor and record job seeker participation in required activities. Maintain regular contact with caseload, and serve as a liaison between customer and service providers. Send out correspondence to schedule appointments, request employment verifications, and acquire pay stubs when applicable. Authorize, distribute, and reconcile participant reimbursements. Ensure accurate record of case file and electronic records. Attend select leadership and team meetings and collaboration sessions, when needed. Accurately record eligibility, enrollment, assessment, services, and placement information within tracking systems. Ensure confidentiality of job seeker information and protect and secure equipment and property. Support the team as needed with data entry, case management, quick hires, or other operational area. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in related field and minimum 2 years of experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (strong verbal communication, good listener, articulate, culturally sensitive and excellent written communication)
  • Demonstrated experience with workload management and accountability; plan and organize assignments to create timely, accurate work products
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to include using logic and reasoning to assess information, form logical conclusions, evaluate options, and make decisions or recommendations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook
  • Experience with federal, state, and local regulations related to employment and training programs including general knowledge of the workforce one-stop and partner programs and partner programs and services
  • Knowledge of characteristics associated with unemployed, dislocated, and disadvantaged populations
  • Strong writing skills to include report writing
  • Demonstrated experience working independently while maintaining collaboration
  • Current valid driver’s license (with low-risk driver rating) and automobile liability insurance required
  • Residing in New Mexico
