Why this role is important to us A Lead Business Development Representative plays a critical role in driving SimCorp’s commercial momentum by expanding the top of the funnel and fueling revenue growth across the Americas. With a focus on identifying, engaging, and qualifying high‑potential prospects, this role ensures that SimCorp builds a strong, healthy pipeline aligned to our strategic go‑to‑market priorities. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Solutions teams, the Lead Business Development Representative leverages market insights, partner signals, and industry knowledge to uncover new opportunities and accelerate engagement with prospective clients. By generating and nurturing early‑stage demand, this role directly supports SimCorp’s ability to win new business and expand our footprint in a competitive market.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales development, or a related commercial role within FinTech, financial services, SaaS, or capital markets.
  • Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting and pipeline generation, with a track record of meeting or exceeding lead and opportunity targets.
  • Strong understanding of buy-side financial markets (asset managers, asset owners, insurers, or related ecosystems) and ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Solutions teams to align outreach, messaging, and handoff processes.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members, with the ability to lead by example through strong communication, organization, and CRM discipline.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Flexibility to attend SimCorp office 2x/week as per our hybrid policy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification and qualification of new business opportunities through market research, outbound calls, emails, and networking
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, nurturing leads through the sales funnel to generate qualified sales opportunities
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads and provide support throughout the sales cycle
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop strategies and campaigns that drive lead generation and business growth
  • Utilize CRM systems to manage and track leads, ensuring data accuracy and reporting on lead progress and pipeline status
  • Provide feedback on prospect needs, challenges, and buying behaviors to inform product development, marketing strategies, and sales initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions to effectively engage with prospects and stay competitive
  • Meet or exceed lead generation and sales qualification targets, contributing directly to the overall revenue generation strategy
  • Mentor and guide junior business development representatives, sharing best practices and providing coaching to improve team performance
  • Participate in sales and business development meetings to contribute to strategic planning and goal setting

  • For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $85,000-$115,000 USD. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave, and retirement plans.
  • For Toronto only: The salary range for this position is $85,000-$115,000 CAD. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits including health and dental care, time off and Group RRSP/TFSA.
