About The Position

As the Lead, Banking Operations, you will play a key role in overseeing and optimizing banking operations to support both organizational strategy and a strong member experience. With a focus on Business & Commercial / Commercial Real Estate (CRE) process optimization, you will identify opportunities to improve operational processes, advise on risks and efficiencies across the fulfillment network, and support the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant banking operations. This role is well suited to a strategic, collaborative operations professional who brings strong analytical thinking, a continuous improvement mindset, and a commitment to inclusive and equitable practices. This is a Full‑time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Senior Director, Operations and Service Delivery. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on‑site for events and business demands.

Requirements

  • A post‑secondary education in business, operations management, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in banking operations, financial services, or operational enablement roles
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, operational optimization, or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong business analysis experience, including requirements gathering and documentation
  • Proven ability to assess operational risk and recommend practical, scalable solutions
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross‑functional internal teams and external partners
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex operational concepts into clear, actionable recommendations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting large‑scale operational change initiatives
  • Familiarity with equity‑centered or inclusive design approaches in operations
  • Experience working within a cooperative, credit union, or values‑based organization

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize banking operations processes and practices, with a focus on Business & Commercial / CRE portfolios
  • Integrating decolonization, equity, and diversity thinking into operational processes, policies, and practices
  • Providing advice and recommendations on operational needs, risks, and opportunities across the fulfillment network
  • Monitoring and executing activities and projects related to banking operations programs
  • Enabling accurate and complete processing through effective operational oversight
  • Consulting with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives
  • Monitoring industry trends and supporting vendor and external partner relationships
  • Performing business analysis by gathering business and technical requirements and communicating results
