The AV Lead Installation Technician plays a critical role in delivering high-quality commercial audiovisual installations from start to finish. This position is ideal for someone with strong field installation experience who enjoys taking ownership of projects, directing small crews on-site, and ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You'll work closely with Project Managers, engineers, and clients while serving as the day-to-day leader in the field.

Requirements

3+ years of commercial AV installation experience.
Experience installing complete AV systems from rough-in through final hardware installation.
Strong understanding of: Cable installation and termination, Video walls, Audio systems, DSP hardware, Commercial AV infrastructure
Ability to read blueprints and installation documentation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Professional appearance and customer-facing demeanor.
Ability to work independently while also leading others on job sites.
Willingness to travel nationally up to 25–50%.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience leading installation teams.
Experience with Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Q-SYS, or similar commercial AV platforms.
Washington EL06 or Oregon Limited Energy license (not required).
Background in commercial integration or live event production with permanent installation experience.

Responsibilities

Lead commercial AV installation projects on-site while directing technicians and subcontractors as needed.
Install complete audiovisual systems including displays, projection systems, audio equipment, DSPs, control systems, racks, structured cabling, and related hardware.
Read and interpret construction drawings, system schematics, and installation documentation.
Perform cable installation, rack building, equipment mounting, terminations, and system hardware installation.
Coordinate daily activities with Project Managers and engineering teams.
Provide clear end-of-day updates and project progress reports.
Troubleshoot installation issues independently while knowing when to escalate technical challenges.
Maintain professional communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout each project.
Ensure projects meet company quality standards while maintaining safe job sites.
