About The Position

The AV Installation Technician will perform service calls and installations, assist in sales and customer-facing meetings, and troubleshoot audiovisual and network issues. This role involves inspecting and testing equipment, recommending installation improvements, and demonstrating equipment to customers. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, tools, and inventory, and communicating effectively with management and team members regarding project status, issues, and training needs. Continuous learning in audiovisual and network technologies is expected.

  • Continues to develop knowledge and skills pertaining to Commercial Audiovisual best practices and systems.
  • Great customer service skills with a commitment to resolving customer concerns and meeting customer requirements.
  • Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little to no assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two (2) year college or technical school preferred.
  • 5+ years in general Commercial AV or similar IT-related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of complex wiring configurations and/or signal flow for audio, video, and control preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service calls and installations as assigned by the AV Project Coordinator.
  • Assist in sales and customer-facing meetings.
  • Report all customer complaints to Management for follow-up.
  • Inspect and test equipment to locate and repair problems.
  • Assist other AV team members in troubleshooting audiovisual or network related issues.
  • Recommend changes in installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify equipment, and record effects on system performance.
  • Demonstrate use of equipment to customers following installation or repair.
  • Check function of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
  • Send email reports to Lead Installer detailing work done.
  • Read technical manuals to learn correct settings for equipment.
  • Continue to develop knowledge and skills pertaining to audiovisual and network technical support.
  • Discuss layout and assembly procedures and problems to clarify design details and functional criteria of units.
  • Assemble complete prototype system if scheduling allows.
  • Submit all pertinent administrative data complete and on time.
  • Maintain vehicle, tools, and inventory in a neat, clean, and organized fashion.
  • Communicate with the Lead Installer or Project Coordinator concerning delays, unsafe sites, accidents, equipment breakdowns and other maintenance problems.
  • Communicate training needs that may increase system effectiveness to Project Coordinator.
