About The Position

TGK Automotive Specialists has served clients since 2007, focusing on honesty, integrity, quality repair and service, and client satisfaction. The Lead Automotive Technician diagnoses and repairs customer vehicles efficiently and effectively while following MAP guidelines and dealership, manufacturer, and company repair standards. The role also provides leadership and mentorship to team members seeking to improve their skills. Compensation is up to $150,000 per year, varies with experience, and is based on flag pay.

Requirements

• Previous automotive technician or mechanic experience; ASE certifications may be accepted in lieu of experience.
• Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work five days per week, including weekends.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including standing up to eight hours per day, walking, regularly bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching, frequently using arms and hands, and lifting or moving up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds frequently.
• Ability to communicate with customers and shop personnel.
• Vision sufficient to detect color and depth and to refocus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certification and experience.
• Perform work listed on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order efficiently and accurately.
• Perform complex and heavy-duty repairs.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including the Store Manager, Service Consultants, and customers.
• Recommend services necessary to keep customers’ vehicles in running condition and document recommendations in the customer file.
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns to the direct supervisor.
• Follow Sun Auto’s core values, company policies, and procedures in the Employee Handbook.
• Mentor and support team members as they improve their skills.
