About The Position

The Lead Assistant Golf Professional supports the Director of Golf in all aspects of golf operations. The role includes managing tee times, Marshals and Starters, tournaments and golf outings; providing golf instruction; developing clinics and junior camps; and supporting golf shop and outside operations. The Lead Assistant reports directly to the Director of Golf and assumes the Director’s responsibilities in their absence.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least three years of prior golf course experience.
• At least one year of previous supervisory experience.
• Passion for golf, with a commitment to regularly practicing and playing.
• Proven ability to build and foster a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

• PGA Member or Apprentice.

Responsibilities

• Train, schedule, and supervise Marshals and Starters.
• Manage tournaments from planning through completion.
• Develop and implement golf clinics and junior camps.
• Assist customers by explaining and enforcing golf policies, rules, and regulations.
• Manage the PGA Junior League program.
• Operate the golf shop and outside operations in the absence of Salesclerks.
• Support the Pro Shop Supervisor with ordering, inventory, and credit management.
• Oversee the member list and report changes to the Director of Golf.
• Manage daily opening and closing procedures for golf operations as needed.
• Assume the Director of Golf’s responsibilities in their absence.
• Provide golf instruction to members and guests.
• Manage tee times, tournaments, and golf outings.
