National Grid is hiring a Lead Analyst, Flexibility Market Development (ESMP) for their Commercial & Customer Strategy department in Waltham, MA. This is a hybrid role. The company delivers safe and secure energy and aims to shape the sustainable future of the industry by anticipating customer needs, reducing energy delivery costs, and pioneering flexible energy systems. As the clean energy transition accelerates and electrification increases demand on the electric grid, utilities are pursuing innovative strategies to unlock the value of distributed energy resources (DERs) and grid flexibility to enhance system reliability, strengthen grid resilience, and enable a more efficient energy system. Non-Wires Alternatives (NWAs), Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), and other flexibility solutions can provide reliability, resilience, and operational benefits to the electric grid. National Grid’s Electric Sector Modernization Plan (ESMP) outlines a pathway to a more flexible, resilient, and customer-centric electric system capable of supporting electrification and decarbonization goals. To advance this vision, National Grid is seeking to accelerate the deployment of grid flexibility solutions to support Massachusetts' clean energy and climate goals. Through its Non-Wires Alternative program and broader grid flexibility initiatives, National Grid is developing innovative approaches that leverage energy efficiency, demand response, energy storage, distributed generation, and other distributed energy resources (DERs) to deliver value to customers and the electric system.
