About The Position

This is a Labor & Delivery/Post Partum Registered Nurse position. The role involves working on a 25-bed unit that includes Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, 2 Operating Rooms, 2 Recovery Rooms, and 2 Antepartum rooms. The clinician-to-patient ratio is 1:2-3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor requiring Magnesium drip or epidural, and 1:3-4 for Postpartum care. The unit typically sees an average daily census of 15-25 mothers, babies, and labors. The position requires rotation between day, evening, and night shifts, including every weekend. This is not a straight day position.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Proficiency in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Circulating, and Newborn Care.
• Current Massachusetts RN License.
• AHA BLS certification.
• NRP certification.
• EFM certification (renewed every 2 years for L&D).

Nice To Haves

• AHA ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery settings.
• Circulate in Operating Rooms as needed.
• Manage patients requiring Magnesium drip or epidural.
• Adhere to clinician-to-patient ratios.
• Rotate between day, evening, and night shifts.
• Work every other weekend.
