About The Position

The Kamaliʻi Engagement Intern supports Liliʻuokalani Center’s Recruitment, Enrollment and Engagement efforts that help connect youth and ʻohana to Liliʻuokalani Center programs and services. This internship provides hands-on experience in community-based youth programming while building foundational skills in communication, organization, and teamwork within a Native Hawaiian youth hub, Liliʻuokalani Center. Informed by a deep understanding of the adolescent experience and grounded in Hawaiian culture, the Liliʻuokalani Center provides Native Hawaiian youth with opportunities to connect with peers and mentors, access supportive services, and explore pathways to passion, purpose, and prosperity. As the newest initiative of Liliʻuokalani Trust, the Center serves as a vibrant youth hub where Kamalei can learn, play, and build connections. The Liliʻuokalani Center is a safe, pro-social space where youth are inspired to pursue their dreams through the arts, sports, technology, life readiness, and wellness while receiving wraparound supports that help them reach their goals and thrive.

Requirements

  • Interest in learning and contributing to Liliʻuokalani Trust’s mission
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • TB clearance
  • Basic comfort with computers and common software (Word, Microsoft Platforms, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with organizing and preparing outreach and enrollment materials
  • Support data entry and tracking of program and service participation
  • Help implement youth engagement activities and events
  • Shadow team members to learn workflows related youth engagement and safety
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas and insights
  • Support preparation for youth-facing activities and community events
  • Provide general administrative and logistical support as needed
  • Adheres to internship program guidelines and supports department needs as assigned.
  • Completes a variety of tasks that provide broad exposure to departmental workflows.
  • Actively builds new skills, strengthens existing abilities, and applies learning to real‑world projects and responsibilities.
