About The Position

Serve as an intern to the College of Education career engagement team. The intern will work on projects such as newsletters, marketing plans, educational resources, and career guides to help students in the various College of Education majors. The role serves all undergraduate and graduate students across the five academic departments within the College of Education and aims to advance the core mission of fostering wellness, belonging, and success for all students. This position is part of the student affairs team. The summer internship program runs from June to August, requiring 120 or 90 total hours depending on student status, with an option to extend into the fall based on funding and performance.

  • Meet the minimum eligibility requirements for the Student Associate job profile

Responsibilities

  • Create resource guides such as “how to become” career guides for students by researching industries and career paths, organizing information and creating visually appealing and easy to follow guides.
  • Create other assignments and resources for student and faculty to engage in career development.
  • Revamp and create a plan for the COE newsletter to be a helpful resource for students searching for internship, job, and other opportunities.
  • Create other educational marketing content for social media, such as Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Create teacher certification guide for coaches.
  • Organize and help design different pages, modules, and assignments of the Career Engagement student canvas course.
  • Enter, organize and analyze data from First Destination surveys, event feedback surveys, and outreach data to create reports that help tell the Ed Career Engagement story.
  • Assist with coordinating events, workshops, and outreach such as facilitating resume workshops, employer info sessions, and coordinating with faculty and advisors to guest speak in classes or at events.
  • Observe one-on-one coaching support for students on a variety of career topics such as resume review, career exploration, networking.
  • Support staffing events within COE career services.
