About The Position

The American Red Cross is seeking an Engagement Intern for an internship opportunity in San Diego, CA, reporting out of the San Diego (Fortunada) chapter. This role is designed for an undergraduate student or trainee to gain work experience for a limited period. The intern will assist in the assessment and development of ARC programs, conduct research to recommend process efficiencies, and help with the creation and maintenance of program plans and systems. Additionally, the intern will provide support, development, and leadership guidance to volunteers and perform duties in compliance with standard operating procedures and applicable regulations. Relocation assistance is not eligible for this role.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent required
  • Internship is typically part of an undergraduate program which requires some university credit hours
  • Up to 1 year of related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Ability to work on a team

Responsibilities

  • Typically analyze data, present facts, and recommend solutions
  • May create, develop, or maintain databases for various lines of service events or projects
  • Assist with the development of reports and other informational materials presented to management
  • Conduct unit-specific responsibilities
