About The Position

Shape the school day in a setting where specialized instruction makes all the difference. As an elementary special education teacher in an instructional classroom, you’ll lead a smaller group of students who need more intensive, individualized support to access the curriculum at their pace and level. Instead of pushing in for brief moments, you’ll own a dedicated instructional space where you can design structured routines, targeted lessons, and meaningful accommodations that help students build skills in academics, communication, and self-regulation. If you’re passionate about working with younger learners who benefit from a more instructional special education environment, this role lets you combine your expertise with the time, structure, and support needed to truly move students forward.

Requirements

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
• LBS1 endorsement required
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to differentiate instruction and modify curriculum based on student needs
• Familiarity with behavior supports, accommodations, and inclusive classroom practices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff and families

• Experience working with elementary school students preferred
