About The Position

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a motivated Layout Technician to assist field crews and in-house designers and detailers by collecting or creating points from contract documents to establish field layout. Layout work may include horizontal layouts for duct, pipe, conduits, elevations, sleeves, walls, and hangers. The role works in a field environment and supports field crews and other customers. The technician uses CAD software and Trimble software and hardware, applies 3D spatial visualization and problem-solving skills, maintains equipment, and keeps it current with annual calibration. Other duties may be assigned. Travel may be required, typically without overnight stays.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in surveying and/or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Two years of CAD experience.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Current valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Strong problem-solving skills and 3D spatial visualization/thinking skills.
• Good work ethic and accountability for deadlines.
• Self-starter.
• Ability to work and communicate with others.

Nice To Haves

• Prior military experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Field Engineer – Trimble Designer CAD.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment daily and ensure it is current with annual calibration.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
