About The Position

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Layout Technician for its VDC team. The role assists field crews and in-house designers and detailers by collecting or creating points from contract documents to establish field layout for various purposes, including horizontal layout of duct, pipe, conduits, elevations, sleeves, wall layout, and hangers. The position works in the field and supports field crews and other customers with layout. It requires CAD and Trimble software and hardware skills, 3D spatial visualization, and problem-solving ability. The technician maintains equipment daily and keeps it current with annual calibration. Other duties may be assigned. This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in surveying and/or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Two years of CAD experience.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Current valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Strong 3D spatial visualization and thinking skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good work ethic and accountability for deadlines.
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
• Ability to work and communicate with others.

Nice To Haves

• Prior military experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Field Engineer – Trimble Designer CAD.

Responsibilities

• Collect or create points from contract documents to establish field layout.
