About The Position

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a motivated, career-minded Layout Technician to support field crews and in-house designers and detailers. The role involves collecting or creating points from contract documents to establish field layout for a range of purposes, including horizontal layout of duct, pipe, conduits, elevations, sleeves, walls, and hangers. The position works in a field environment and assists field crews and other customers with layout. The technician uses CAD software and Trimble software and hardware, applies 3D spatial visualization and problem-solving skills, and maintains equipment, including keeping up with annual calibration. Other duties may be assigned. The role has no supervisory responsibility and may require travel, typically not overnight.

Requirements

Two to three years of experience in surveying and/or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
Two years of CAD experience.
Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Current valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Strong 3D spatial visualization and thinking skills.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Good work ethic and accountability for deadlines.
Ability to be a self-starter.
Ability to work and communicate with others.

Nice To Haves

Prior military experience.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Field Engineer - Trimble Designer CAD.

Responsibilities
