About The Position

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a dynamic, motivated, career-minded Layout Technician for its VDC work. The role assists field crews and in-house designers and detailers by collecting or creating points from contract documents to establish field layout for various purposes, including horizontal layout of duct, pipe, conduits, elevations, sleeves, wall layout, and hangers. The position works in the field environment and supports field crews and other customers with layout. It also involves maintaining equipment daily and keeping it current with annual calibration. The role has no supervisory responsibility. Travel may be required, typically not overnight.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of surveying experience and/or an equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Two years of CAD experience.
• Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to use CAD software.
• Ability to use Trimble software and hardware.
• Strong 3D spatial visualization and thinking skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Current valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Good work ethic and accountability for deadlines.
• Self-starter.
• Ability to work and communicate with others.

Nice To Haves

• Prior military experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Field Engineer - Trimble Designer CAD.

Responsibilities
