Our Legal Affairs team in Montreal is growing and we are looking for passionate talents to join our adventure! Based in Montréal and under the supervision of the Director of Legal Affairs, the Lawyer provides legal expertise to the company’s stakeholders in their legal matters, particularly transactional matters (acquisitions, dispositions, partnership agreements).

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.);
  • Be a member in good standing of the Bar;
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar role;
  • Have experience in commercial real estate (acquisitions and financing, commercial leases);
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate, draft, and review letters of intent, offers to purchase or sell, promises to purchase or sell, and purchase and sale agreements (asset or share transactions);
  • Negotiate, draft, and review documents related to asset acquisitions or dispositions, including closing documentation;
  • Negotiate, draft, and review partnership agreements;
  • Conduct legal due diligence with respect to acquired properties and/or businesses and coordinate due diligence with other relevant departments;
  • Negotiate and review documentation required for the financing and/or refinancing of company properties;
  • Advise and support members of the Development Department;
  • Negotiate, draft, and review offers to lease, commercial leases, renewals, amendments, and lease assignments;
  • Advise property managers and other departments in certain decision-making processes and in the interpretation of leases;
  • Negotiate, draft, and review various operational agreements;
  • Perform any other related duties.
